Beanfield Theatre was filled to the brim with Cobrah fans, buzzing with anticipation. The air was a little tense and lined with some frustration. Everyone present was made to endure a DJ set that lasted around an hour and thirty minutes, longer than originally scheduled. The opening DJ was really good though, played a ton of really fun mixes, and had most of the crowd dancing.
All frustration was thrown right out the window the moment that Cobrah set foot on stage. She began her setlist with “Hit Girl” off her brand new album “Torn.” The energy in the venue switched over instantaneously. Everyone in attendance began screaming and cheering with such great volume that it was tough to hear Cobrah singing from my little balcony seat.

Cobrah and both of her backup dancers performed beautifully, exuding sex and power with every movement. The three of them were dressed similarly, in nude-coloured lingerie and pantyhose, with killer high heels. The light show was warm and sensual, with strobe lights mixed in at the most perfectly appropriate times.
This setlist was invigorating, and flowed perfectly into itself. Not one person in the crowd stayed still. Everyone danced as if no one was watching, and cheered like crazy as they witnessed Cobrah’s influence in real time. The dramatics all throughout her set were so phenomenal, there is a reason why she describes herself as a fetish-pop artist! She’d be correct also!

The crowd was going crazy for the entire setlist, but it was really the last three songs performed that turned the party way up. Those would be some of Cobrah’s most famous singles, “BRAND NEW BITCH,” “FEMININE ENERGY,” and “GOOD PUSS.”
It was, of course, the perfect way to wrap up her set. She walked off stage waving and smiling to a sold-out venue of her adoring fans, who were cheering with complete passion after having witnessed one of the hottest live shows you could possibly attend.
Cobrah will continue to be loved by Montreal’s LGBTQ+ community, by the freaks who truly get her, myself included! You’ll certainly see me at her next show here, too good of a time to miss!
