Streetlight Embers Launch with Folk-Rock Anthem

Streetlight Embers, the new project from Montreal-area songwriter Brian Gallagher and musician-producer Dan Legault, released their debut single This Joyful Sound on May 1, 2026. The track is the first in a planned series of monthly releases the duo intend to put out through their own production company, L&G Music Services.

Gallagher handles lyrics, vocals, guitars, and banjo on the track, while Legault contributes drums, acoustic guitar, bass, and keys. The recording draws in three backing vocalists, Nikki Girard, Jen Arditi, and Marc Gordon, along with fiddle from Ram Ko. Legault mixed and mastered the track at Third Eye Studios in Pointe Claire.

The song is MAPL compliant, meeting the Canadian content criteria across music, artist, production, and lyrics. It was recorded across the duo’s two West Island studios and released under SOCAN/ASCAP 2026.

Legault has spent years as a drummer for local and touring acts in the Montreal area and operates his own production facility. Gallagher is an award-winning Canadian songwriter. The Streetlight Embers project is built around a rotating cast of collaborators, with a different guest artist joining on each release.

This Joyful Sound is out now on YouTube and available through Streetlight Embers’ social channels. A new track is expected each month through the remainder of 2026.
