There was a sense early on that this one meant something. Helloween arrived at L’Olympia on April 18 as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour, and the sold-out room felt ready for it.
From the first notes, the energy in the room locked in. The band sounded tight and fully in control, moving through a set built on classic power metal without losing momentum. It had that balance fans hope for at an anniversary show, familiar songs delivered with purpose, but still feeling alive in the moment.
The crowd played its part too. Loud, engaged, and clearly aware of the occasion, they turned the night into more than just another tour stop. There was a shared sense of celebration, the kind that builds when a band with this kind of history returns to a city that has always shown up for them.
Support came from Beast In Black, who set the tone early with a high-energy set of their own, helping push the night into full gear before Helloween took over.
Forty years in, Helloween still know how to deliver a show that feels both polished and immediate. In Montreal, it landed exactly how it should. Loud, emotional, and built for a packed room that didn’t want it to end.
