Myles Lloyd Drops Introspective New Album

There’s a track on Myles Lloyd‘s new album called Are U In MTL?, a small but telling nod to the city that shaped him. The Montreal R&B singer released I’m Still Thinking today, a 13-track collection that finds him wrestling with anxiety, heartbreak, and the stubborn pull of memory. At 27, Lloyd has spent years building toward this moment, and the album feels like a proper arrival.

The project trades the confident polish of his earlier work for something messier and more revealing. Songs like Cold and Grapevine move between swagger and vulnerability, while the production blends nostalgic soul textures with sleek, modern R&B. Lloyd’s falsetto remains his signature instrument, cutting through tracks that feel designed for late nights and restless thoughts. “Making this album was like talking to myself out loud,” he says. “I thought I was done processing everything, but these songs proved I wasn’t. It’s messy, honest, and really just me working through what I’m still feeling.”

The album also includes Drive Me Crazy, the track that first brought Lloyd wider attention. The song has racked up over 22 million streams and caught the ear of K-pop group ENHYPEN, landing it on South Korea’s Top 200 chart. A remix with BUNT., titled Crazy, has added another 19 million streams. For an artist operating largely outside the major label machinery, those numbers represent a genuine grassroots breakthrough.

Lloyd has been steadily building his catalogue since 2019’s Goodbye, followed by Forever, Yours in 2022 and WHAT MORE CAN I SAY? last year. He’s drawn praise from outlets like Complex, PAPER, and Teen Vogue, and played stages at Lollapalooza Berlin and Sol Blume. But I’m Still Thinking feels like his most cohesive and personal statement yet, the kind of album that rewards repeated listening.

Montreal has produced its share of genre-defying voices over the years, from Leonard Cohen to Arcade Fire to Charlotte Cardin. Lloyd is carving out his own lane in that lineage, making R&B that’s introspective without being precious, polished without losing its emotional edge.
