Emerging from the shadows, Nigerian-born and Regina, Saskatchewan-raised Afropop singer ADEOLUWA is back with his cinematic new single “4,5,6.” Defined by a sleek guitar riff and heartfelt lyricism, this ultrasmooth ballad echoes the irresistible charm of early 2000s R&B.
Blending influences from Tina Turner, Adekunle Gold, to Stevie Wonder, ADEOLUWA’s unique, genre-bending sound, dubbed experimental Afro-fusion, creates a musical style that transcends borders. This, coupled with a deeply personal and high-energy stage presence, has earned him the nickname “The Greatest Showman” in the DIY Saskatchewan scene.
2019 marked a milestone with his vibrant debut LP, After Bells and Whistles, and a captivating docuseries #DiscoverTheABAWAlbum, detailing the album’s creation. His electric single “Escape” debuted at the Saskatchewan Music Awards, garnering attention from local radio stations. Since then, he has released 3 EPs, a live album, and various collaborations, enhancing his Canadian presence, and even served as a vocalist for Regina’s local band People of the Sun.
His efforts have not gone unnoticed, with accolades from CBC, Range Magazine, Pulse Music Journal, The Native Mag, and 49th Street. His impressive live performance resume includes a headlining set at the SaskMusic Winter Showcase, five SaskMusic Award nominations, and an appearance at Breakout West 2023. Now recognized on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist, ADEOLUWA is a must-listen act for 2024.
His upcoming EP, The King of Detours, is a product of his life’s challenges, including immigration struggles, career obstacles, and personal heartbreak. “4, 5, 6,” a poignant track about love and loss, showcases what listeners can anticipate from the EP.

“The EP is titled The King of Detours as last year deviated from my plans, leading to many unexpected paths that culminated in this beautiful record,” ADEOLUWA explains. “‘4, 5, 6’ is an ideal introduction, starting amidst a period of confusion and transition.”
“4, 5, 6” is out now on all streaming platforms. ADEOLUWA hopes this story resonates deeply, with listeners absorbing every word. With his magnetic storytelling, silky vocals, and knack for addictive choruses, it’s hard not to be captivated.
