Sweden’s chart-breaking all-female heavy rock band Thundermother drop new album titled Black And Gold (AFM Records) today and arrive in Montreal on August 27 on the Scorpions ROCK BELIEVER TOUR.
The band has four studio albums and countless live shows under their belt. The new album, true to form, delivers infectious, sometimes hilarious, party rock songs loaded with irresistible fist-pumping appeal.
Commenting on their upcoming tour, Filippa Nässil (guitars) says: “It will be 30 minutes of pure and raw madness! If you put AC/DC and Motörhead together, then you have Thundermother.” Guernica Mancini (vocals) adds, “We fight for rock’n’roll” is our motto, and that is what we are gonna show on that stage. Thundermother don’t just play rock; we ARE rock!”
Originally Whitesnake were also playing on this tour but recently announced they could no longer appear.
David Coverdale wrote “It is with profound disappointment and a heavy heart that I must announce that Whitesnake will no longer be able to join The Scorpions on their US and Canadian tour due to my continued treatment for a persistent upper respiratory infection that affects my ability to perform. This includes the cancellation of our own headlining shows as well.
While Whitesnake will no longer be on the tour, the Scorpions will be continuing on. We Wish Our Good Friends, The Scorpions, Every Success!!! We Wish You Well”
We caught up with Filippa to chat about this “dream tour” and the new songs she’s most excited to play live.
