2 Days ’til Heavy Montreal

Lamb-Of-God-new-album-2015

With just 2 days to go til the heaviest festival in Montreal kicks off, today we feature one of the finest bands on the bill…. LAMB OF GOD

The band’s seventh album, VII: Sturm und Drang, is not a “prison record,” says singer Randy Blythe, but it very well could have been. In 2012, the Virginia quintet’s frontman spent five long weeks in a Czech jail after being arrested for the death of a young fan he pushed offstage at a Prague concert two years earlier. Now, after a 2013 acquittal, Blythe and his bandmates are back in business, releasing Dark Days, a memoir about the experience, and an album that mostly skirts it. “That would have been opportunistic,” says Blythe of the latter. “Besides, this is heavy metal, not gangsta rap.”

Lamb Of God have been together for over 2 decades now and always put on a ferocious show, and their Sunday slot ahead of headliners Slipknot is sure to be a highlight of the Heavy weekend.
