The Sincop8ed Noize Foundation is a Montreal-based non-profit organization that promotes Canadian emerging artists. On November 6, 2022, the NPO produced Immerse MTL, a live hybrid music concert that took place at Petit Campus. Attendees had the option to either attend the show in-person or virtually, in VR.
With Immerse MTL, Sincop8ed Noize strives to create one of the first live music events to make VR technology accessible to emerging artists in Montreal. It allows for a more dynamic experience for the fans, creating a new alternative for virtual concerts.
The event was a success and divided into two concerts: Immerse MTL Unplugged and Immerse MTL Electric.
The Unplugged show featured great acoustic acts that gave the audience goosebumps. The artists were: Kind, Gianni Bodo and Cinzia & The Eclipse.
The Electric concert energized the crowd with high-intensity performances. The lineup included: Tatum Quinn, Wolves at Midnight and The Anti-Queens. All performers were incredible, and the event was run like clockwork by a great team of event professionals and technicians.
The artists expressed their excitement about the event and how well it was organized, hoping for it to come back next year.
If you missed the show, you can watch Immerse MTL Unplugged and Electric below. Although a VR headset creates the most immersive experience, viewers can also explore the footage in VR180 3D view from different angles on their smartphone or computer.
